| The Morgans at the Homestead are very special to us, each and every one claims a little piece of our heart. We feel fortunate to have been blessed with their presence and even though they now reside in new pastures they will not be forgotten. Their new stewards will always be considered family. It is with great pride that we introduce you to the Homestead "KinFolk". |
We have always believed that the right homes will present themselves and consequently we are never in a rush to place any of our Morgans.
From the moment Hmstd Bootlegger was born, we knew he was going to develop into a fine stallion and have an impact on someone's program. When circumstances found Carr's inquiring about Bootlegger as their future stallion for their One Day Morgans, we knew that this was the perfect home we had been waiting for.
It gives us such a sense of pride to once again welcome Jerry and Terry Carr to our fantastic KinFolk family |

I have always believed that when the perfect home presented itself for
R-Two Little Zipper, I would know that this was the home I had been
waiting for. From the moment that I first spoke with Paula Willinsky of
Caledonia, Ontario I knew that Zipper had found the perfect home. We
owe a huge debt of gratitude to this wonderful boy for not only
providing us with correct, quality foals but for showing us on a daily
basis what good stallions are made of. We're going to miss you Zipper
but your daughter's will continue to have a huge impact on our program.
Thank you Paula for loving Zipper and giving him such a fantastic home!

It is never easy to offer our Morgans for sale but it was doubly hard to
put Two J Baby Cakes on the for sale list. Baby Cakes has been here
since she was a weanling and even though we weren't her breeders, in our
hearts she is one of our babies. Finding the best placement for this
exceptional broodmare was very important to us and we are thrilled that
Baby Cakes is going to play a big part in Elizabeth Robb's breeding
program Elnoresh Morgans in Vankleek Hill, Ontario. Baby Cakes has
continually reproduced herself and the family resemblance in her three
fillies is uncanning. We hold this young mare in such high regard that
we have retained her smoky cream filly Hmstd Sweet Mother Of Purl to
play a huge part in the next generation of our breeding program. We are
pleased to have Liz in our KinFolk family and will be anxiously awaiting
the arrival of Baby Cakes 2008 foal by Hmstd Rum Runner.

It seems that Hmstd Louisiana Lullabye and Kathy Sutton of Volant,
Pennsylvania were meant to be together. Always wanting a quality
buckskin Kathy seemed drawn to Lou. Imagine her surprise when going
through pictures on her computer she found a picture that she had saved
from the year before. Kathy emailed the picture and said that the year
before she was so taken with the buckskins in the picture that she had
saved it vowing that one day she would own a quality buckskin just like
the ones in the picture. Ironically a visitor to the Homestead had
taken some pictures during her visit and had posted them on the
internet. Kathy suddenly realized that the photo she had saved was
taken at our place and wanted to know if her sweet Lou was in the
picture. It seemed too much of a coincidence that the buckskin foal in
the picture was indeed Kathy's Hmstd Louisiana Lullabye. We are
honoured to have this wonderful lady in our KinFolk family.

Over the winter while Colleen Monahan of Santa Cruz, California was
waiting for the birth of the 2007 foals we had the opportunity to get to
know one another on a more personal level. When I emailed pictures and
announced that Miriah had just given birth to the sweetest buckskin
filly she knew in her heart that Hmstd Sweet Magnolia was destined to be
hers. Colleen's compassion and love for her four legged family members
left no doubts in our minds that she would provide a great home for
Maggie. Sweet Magnolia will remain at the Homestead while her new owner
relocates to their new home.

It is always a delight in this day and age of internet travel when
people are able to come and physically visit the Homestead. After
numerous emails Jerry and Terry Carr of Whitecourt, Alberta came in
search of a potential broodmare. After visiting
we knew that the Carr's would be a wonderful addition to our KinFolk
family and were delighted when they choose
Hmstd Whisky Girl. Whisky
Girl was bred to Hmstd Rum Runner before she left and we are very
anxious to see the resulting foal as it is a cross that we had planned
on doing. Thanks for letting us play a part in your dream Jerry and
Terry!

It is not too often that we have someone ask to fly over to theHomestead in the dead of winter to look at our Morgansbut such was the
case for Danielle Vetsch of Sassel, Switzerland. We thoroughly enjoyed
getting to know Danielle and had a great time despite the freezing
temperatures. Danielle selected Hmstd Commander And Chief and Hmstd
Karamel Kiss for her breeding program. Welcome to the Homestead KinFolk
family Danielle!
