We were thrilled when Kathy and Vince DeFazio of Scandia Morgan Horse
Farm www.scandiamhf.com offered us the opportunity to lease this
wonderful mare for a breeding season.
Eve is by the stallion Forevermore, who needs no introduction in the
Morgan Show world, having produced many greats that have gone on to win
at our Grand National. He is now deceased. Forevermore is by the
great horse, Beamington, who was a WC stallion and a great producer in
his own right.
Eve is also the product (on her maternal side) of the Townshend program,
one of the oldest existing Morgan farms that we have today. Anna Ela,
the grand matron of Townshend, bought the breeding to Forevermore at the
AMHA Stallion Auction so that they could breed Townshend My Mark by
Townshend Check Mark to him. My Mark is out of My Debra, who is out of
Townshend Debadonna, a mare that beat them all in her day. What a "blue" mare line! Eve is one of the last mares living today that is
of this mare line. The Townshend horses are all very solid and square
horses, that show up in the pedigrees of many of our modern horses, and
their look and work ethic is evident no matter how they are crossed out.
This pretty mare adjusted quickly to the casual life style at the
Homestead and has me dreaming about the Rum Runner foal she is carrying.
