~ The Mares of Homestead Morgans ~

It was a broodmare that created Alexander the Great's great war horse, Bucephalus. It was a broodmare that bore Secretariat and Cigar. It was a broodmare that saved thousands upon thousands of lives in wars over the centuries. A broodmare was responsible for this entire breed we call the Morgan and for every single outstanding individual in this breed. There is no higher calling nor compliment to a mare than to qualify as breeding stock quality. The mares at the Homestead were selected based on the following criteria: correct movement, disposition, beauty, go all day attitude and pedigrees which exemplify "typey" Morgans.

We realize we owe a debt of gratitude to our beautiful mares who continually produce top quality foals. Without them, there would be no Homestead Morgans.
