Two J Baby Cakes is extensively Brunk bred with a blend of the new and foundation lines.  Baby Cake’s top line is of course KRP Cocoa, he combines the wonderful old Brunk and Government lines with use of Condo, Jubilee King, Senator Graham and Flyhawk back in her pedigree through Sunup Neptune and Maple Blaze.

Her bottom lines bring in Beamington through Whispering High Beam in several crosses as well as the strong lines of The Brown Falcon, tying in the many doses of Flyhawk, through Beamington, The Brown Falcon, Dickie’s Pride and combining in old government lines through the old standby Mansfield. 

It is impossible to not fall in love with Baby Cakes.  She came to the Homestead when she was four months old and as a yearling was the prettiest upheaded buckskin filly we had ever seen.  She has always had attitude, which gives her that look at me appearance, yet she is so easy to handle.  My brother Greg is visually impaired and can hardly wait to go to the barn to visit with “his favourite girl” when he comes to The Homestead.  The best word to describe this young mare is “typy”.   Baby Cakes has a gorgeous head with wide set eyes and tiny ears.  Her laid back shoulder and neck set gives her a very up headed appearance.  She has a powerful hindquarter with an equally matched wide chest, nice straight legs with the right amount of bone and good feet.  This mare never fails to put a smile on our face.  Baby Cakes is homozygous for black and heterozygous for agouti meaning she will never produce a chestnut, palomino or cremello foal no matter who she is crossed with.

This mare has reproduced herself in both her foals.  Both her buckskin fillies by Hmstd Rum Runner are exquisite, very typy and have her head, shoulder, neck set and exceptional uphill movement.  With this cross, Baby Cakes has been producing larger than herself. 

Two J Baby Cakes is halter broke, stands well to have her feet trimmed and is respectful of other’s space.  She has a steady, even-tempered disposition.  If not sold before breeding season commences, she will be kept open so that she can be started under saddle.

We feel that Baby Cakes would make an excellent driving pony and we are confident that as a broodmare she would continue to produce exceptional foals.
